With a total capacity of approximately 80,000 m³, distributed across 79 tanks — most of them stainless steel — Silomar is today one of the leading Italian operators in the sector.

Our history: roots in the past, vision toward the future
Silomar has gone through decades of growth, innovation, and technological development. Here are the key milestones of our journey.
1951
Silomar S.p.A. is founded with the construction of its first coastal storage facility: 11 tanks with a total capacity of 6,420 m³ dedicated to fats and vegetable products.
1960s
Handling of category “C” chemical products begins (non-toxic, flash point > 61°C).
1970
Expansion of the facility to 41 tanks and a total capacity of 29,196 m³.
1980s–1990s
Construction of the Silomar 2 section and later Silomar 3, bringing total capacity to 78,000 m³.
Installation of stainless-steel tanks and the first automated control systems.
1996
Obtained ISO 9001 certification — Quality Management System.
2004–2007
ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications obtained (now ISO 45001).
2013
Construction of the internal railway connection (215 meters, two tracks for 100-ton wagons).
Acquisition of the majority stake in Depositi Costieri Savona S.p.A., expanding capacity and strengthening presence within the Ligurian port system.
In the following years, the company has continued to invest in the ongoing modernization of its facilities to ensure maximum efficiency and safety.

Since 2013, Silomar has held the majority stake in Depositi Costieri Savona S.p.A., expanding its service capacity through a strategic presence in the Port of Savona
